Although the tradition is completely unheard of in Norway (although we've all seen it on TV of course), my dear friend Helena decided to throw me a baby shower today - seing as the baby is 50% Irish, she figures it's appropriate not to stick only to Norwegian customs. Who am I to object, especially to an event involving good friends, gifts for the little one and lots of cake? Lovely way to spend an evening, no doubt about that.
According to the(about ten) pregnancy books in my possession, two weeks before the due date is leaving a baby shower fairly late. and I think I can see why. I mean, look at the present size of me:
On the other hand, we have yet to buy a stroller (but have it scheduled for tomorrow) and we're only going to maternity classes this coming weekend. Let's hope the baby (boy, as you will have gathered from the bluest cupcakes in the history of cupcakes above) decides to stay in there for a little longer. Not much longer, mind you. No need for that, thank you very much.
(And YES, we are certain it's only one of them - in case you felt like asking.)
